Golf and active lifestyle apparel shoppers can find Straight Down clothing gear at Pebble Beach Golf Links, resorts like the Ritz Carlton or at 635 Clarion Court in San Luis Obispo.

Straight Down Clothing Co. has opened a retail outlet there, adjacent to the business’s warehouse and corporate headquarters.

The 1,200 square-foot store opened Wednesday, Sept. 17. It will operate Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Debbie Rowley, co-owner of the San Luis Obispo based business the started in 1988, is the interim manager.

“It just makes sense to have a retail facility at corporate headquarters, where we can offer personal service to customers and offer our latest styles,” said Rowley. “We can offer close-to-factory prices at this location by sharing overhead.”

Straight Down sells its brand nationally at top-shelf private clubs and resorts and on the Internet.

The retail store will offer accessories such as backpacks and sunglasses, as well as its line of clothing for men and women that includes walking shorts, outer gear and shirts, said Rowley.

Straight Down president and co-owner Mike Rowley designed the retail layout. Construction was done by Specialty Construction Inc. of San Luis Obispo.
